About Parfois

If it was up to us, all the best design in the world would be posted within the Parfois Portfolio. But it's not up to us. Stumbling the web we often bump into things worth sharing. The world wide web is so full off great things that will never end up in our portfolio, but which we want the world to see. For this we created our blog. At this moment there are 4 of us blogging on a regular basis. Work, studies and social life makes that there are weeks with a lot of posts, and weeks without. But we'll do our best in bringing you the nicest shit on a acceptable basis.

Great combination, great product!

Kai malte roever combined an air pump and bike light into a single device. the design not only fulfills two purposes but also doesn’t require batteries. Instead the light gets its power from the pumping action from the air pump. Using faraday’s law of induction the device charges itself while pumping, storing the energy in the built-in rechargeable battery.

Minjae Lee is a 19 year old South Korean artist. He claims to be self-taught and uses old-fashioned tools like markers, pens, crayons and acrylics. He’s still looking for a commercial breakthrough, but if he keeps on developing and improving his style like this, we will see a him ¬†a lot in the future. The moment I saw his work, it took my breath away. Perhaps not everyone will like his style, but for me it was heaven. The classic style decorated with colors and drama. Totally my cup of tea. NYT's Innovation Portfolio

The New York Times Innovation Portfolio

We all know the New York Times has been one of the first when it comes to interactive news reporting. They always try to bring news to the user in a much more thorough and profounder way using experiences that new technologies today can offer. They were one of the first to bring their newspaper via a digital format to the user. They blew everybody’s mind when they introduced their Times Reader not so long ago. And while building all this awesome products, their newsposts were swarming with infographics, games and interactive user experiences. The NYT found the time to gather all their interactive work in their Innovation Portfolio.

I just discovered Scott Amron. Maybe you already knew him, ¬†but for me he’s new. This electrical engineer, designer and conceptual artist started Amron Experimental in 2007, his one man design firm¬†and engineering atelier¬†known for selling original proof-of-concept prototypes as limited edition design-art.¬†He has exhibited in¬†London, the¬†Netherlands,¬†Germany,¬†Singapore, and¬†New York. His work has been praised for dismissing preconceived notions of how we are “supposed” to interact with basic objects.¬†His experimental product designs promote sustainability and change perspectives.

Be shure to take a look at his website, lots of great ideas/designs! >> Read more
