<description>If it was up to us, all the best design in the world would be posted within the Parfois Portfolio. But it&#039;s not up to us. Stumbling the web we often bump into things worth sharing. The world wide web is so full off great things that will never end up in our portfolio, but which we want the world to see. For this we created our blog. At this moment there are 4 of us blogging on a regular basis. Work, studies and social life makes that there are weeks with a lot of posts, and weeks without. But we&#039;ll do our best in bringing you the nicest shit on a acceptable basis.</description>

<p>Finally</p>
<p>I am proud to present you the new lamp me and three friends made with our new collective named: <a href="http://stalcollectief.com/" target="_blank">Stal</a></p>
<p>the lamp “eliz” forms a contrast between the elegant base and the large felt hood that seems to float above it. This adjustable lamp creates an intimate space and ensures a pleasant light zone and can be used in living room, waiting rooms, restaurants or as event furniture. the frame structure consists of birch plywood and is supported by a thin metal base. the synthetic felt can be replaced by veneer or a plexiglass cover for outdoor use. this creation is the result of a collaboration between four young furniture designers who studied in mechelen: len de paepe, bob segers, tim vranken and jonas blondeel. contact us at info@stalcollectief.com<span id="more-4487"></span><a rel="attachment wp-att-4490" href="http://blog.parfois.be/2011/08/04/eliz-stal-collectief/eliz_2-2/"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-4490" title="eliz_2 2" src="http://blog.parfois.be/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/eliz_2-2.jpg" alt="" width="433" height="650" /></a><a rel="attachment wp-att-4492" href="http://blog.parfois.be/2011/08/04/eliz-stal-collectief/eliz_4-2/"><img title="eliz_4 2" src="http://blog.parfois.be/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/eliz_4-2.jpg" alt="" width="433" height="650" /><img title="eliz_3 2" src="http://blog.parfois.be/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/eliz_3-2.jpg" alt="" width="433" height="650" /></a><a rel="attachment wp-att-4493" href="http://blog.parfois.be/2011/08/04/eliz-stal-collectief/eliz_5-2/"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-4493" title="eliz_5 2" src="http://blog.parfois.be/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/eliz_5-2.jpg" alt="" width="433" height="650" /></a><img title="eliz_6 2" src="http://blog.parfois.be/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/eliz_6-2.jpg" alt="" width="433" height="650" /><img title="eliz_7 2" src="http://blog.parfois.be/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/eliz_7-2.jpg" alt="" width="433" height="650" /><a rel="attachment wp-att-4496" href="http://blog.parfois.be/2011/08/04/eliz-stal-collectief/eliz_8-2/"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-4496" title="eliz_8 2" src="http://blog.parfois.be/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/eliz_8-2.jpg" alt="" width="433" height="650" /><a rel="attachment wp-att-4497" href="http://blog.parfois.be/2011/08/04/eliz-stal-collectief/eliz_9-2/"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-4497" title="eliz_9 2" src="http://blog.parfois.be/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/eliz_9-2.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="488" /><a rel="attachment wp-att-4488" href="http://blog.parfois.be/2011/08/04/eliz-stal-collectief/eliz11-2/"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-4488" title="eliz11 2" src="http://blog.parfois.be/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/eliz11-2.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="488" /></a></a></a></p>

<p>Designed to be both a light source and a sound barrier, Hood forms a halo over the table, catching loose sentences in its thick felt.<br />
The light is a modular system with the possibility of growing however big it needs to be. The light is made up of separate felt panels that are assembled on site, making it a flat-pack product.<span id="more-4251"></span><a rel="attachment wp-att-4252" href="http://blog.parfois.be/2011/02/28/hood-form-us-with-love/111005_image_02_0-2/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-4252" title="111005_image_02_0 2" src="http://blog.parfois.be/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/111005_image_02_0-2.jpg" alt="" width="487" height="650" /></a><a rel="attachment wp-att-4254" href="http://blog.parfois.be/2011/02/28/hood-form-us-with-love/111015_image_01_2-2/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-4254" title="111015_image_01_2 2" src="http://blog.parfois.be/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/111015_image_01_2-2.jpg" alt="" width="487" height="650" /></a><a rel="attachment wp-att-4256" href="http://blog.parfois.be/2011/02/28/hood-form-us-with-love/111015_image_03_1-2/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-4256" title="111015_image_03_1 2" src="http://blog.parfois.be/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/111015_image_03_1-2.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="488" /></a><a rel="attachment wp-att-4255" href="http://blog.parfois.be/2011/02/28/hood-form-us-with-love/111015_image_02_1-2/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-4255" title="111015_image_02_1 2" src="http://blog.parfois.be/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/111015_image_02_1-2.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="488" /></a></p>

<p>Stephan Schulz is a young designer, or product developer. He hasn&#8217;t made a lot of things yet, but the things he made are well worth posting. Very simple and honest designs with a lot of attention to the material itself. The project above &#8216;Comfy cargo chair&#8217; asks participation from the owner, it is an empty skeleton, which can be filled in according to your taste. Some more projects, as always, after read more.<span id="more-4169"></span></p>

<p>A very simple yet elegant desk for those of you who don&#8217;t have a lot of space. A nice detail in the leg of the table, and attention for the combination of materials make it a well balance piece of furniture.</p>
