The world wide web is so full off great things that will never end up in our portfolio, but which we want the world to see. For this we created our blog. At this moment there are 4 of us blogging on a regular basis. Work, studies and social life makes that there are weeks with a lot of posts, and weeks without. Follow thursday (March 24th, 2011), the famous Swedish school Hyper Island will host a meetup in Amsterdam at the offices of Sid Lee. The school added some new programs since last year, which they now promote around the world. The meetup covers an introduction to Hyper Island and which programs they offer and how you should apply. It will give you a sense how students work, and what kind of methodology they follow, and of course there will be plenty of time to asks questions to Hyper students and alumni.
So if you’re interested in Hyper Island, and want to learn more about the school, make sure you RSVP. The event is no recruitment event, so there’s no need for a portfolio or interviews. It’s more an introduction of Hyper Island to you.

As the concept of urban farming is getting bigger and more and more well spread, some lectures and events appear. The past weekend we visited one of them here in Berlin. Zeillen, life science – Urban farming was located in more places across Berlin. A big vegetable garden was constructed with the help of lots of volunteers, a theatre filled with plants and vegetables, … Lectures took place in the middle of it. To go short, a lot of interesting stuff taking place with the upcoming of urban farming as a concept or as a project. A very nice video from LEGS Media. Based on Iggy Pop’s song, it gives a shaded view on fashion film, while it has won a prize in the relevant Diane Pernet’s festival. LEGS Media is located in New York and creates campaigns using various media including film, video, photography, performance and installations.
Maybe u heard about it, maybe u didn’t. Pecha Kucha nights are organized all over the world. Pecha Kucha organizes a lot of lectures in one night in one city, each lecture takes only 400 seconds. A great initiative and really fun to do. Coincidentally a part of the parfois crew was in Thessaloniki (Greece) at the right time to visit one. (u can even spot the parfois team in the video) So Keep an eye out for any Pecha Kucha in tour area!!
Hurry up, you fans of free camping! You ‘ve got one day to pack your tent and some stuff and reach Castricum, a small town near Amsterdam in the beach side, where you can camp free in the middle of the city. Amsterdam based DUS architects, known for their social approach to architecture, together with Artist Sabrina Lindemann and graphic agency DUEL experiment with the idea of transforming the city’s green into a camp site. This post might be a bit to personal, but I had to share these extremely nice shoes with all of you. I was looking around at¬†Fubiz, our much bigger french colleague blog and he wrote about them. As I’m looking for shoes for ages now, it was such a relief to finally find a pair I really like. Finding them at an online store was not the easiest job, but after 15min I ordered these beautifully white high shoes. There manufactured by Supra, and they are part of there new Spring Collection. Personally I had never heard of this brand, but now I’m the proud owner of my ¬†first pair of Supra shoes, the Skytop II. Read on for more pictures. I bought the white ones. The world is full of smart people, doing all kinds of smart things. That’s smart! Well, we’re with STUPID. Stupid is the relentless pursuit of a regret free life. Smart may have the brains. But stupid has the balls. Smart recognizes things for how they are, stupid sees things for how they could be. Smart critiques, stupid creates. The fact is, if we didn’t have stupid thoughts, we have no interesting thoughts at all! Smart may have the plans… Stupid has the stories. Smart may have authority, but stupid has one hell of a hangover. It’s not smart to take risks, it’s stupid. To be stupid is to be brave! Stupid isn’t afraid to fail. Stupid knows there are worse things than failure… Like not even trying! Smart had one good idea, and that idea was stupid. You can’t outsmart stupid. So don’t even try! Remember, only stupid can be really brilliant. So, BE STUPID!
