If it was up to us, all the best design in the world would be posted within the Parfois Portfolio… But… its not up to us. Stumbling the web we often bump into things worth sharing. The world wide web is so full off great things that will never end up in our portfolio, but which we want the world to see. For this we created our blog. At this moment there 4 of us blogging on a regular basis.Work, studies and social life makes that there are weeks with a lot of posts, and weeks without. But we’ll do our best in bringing you the nicest shit on a acceptable basis.
This post might be a bit to personal, but I had to share these extremely nice shoes with all of you. I was looking around at¬†Fubiz, our much bigger french colleague blog and he wrote about them. As I’m looking for shoes for ages now, it was such a relief to finally find a pair I really like. Finding them at an online store was not the easiest job, but after 15min I ordered these beautifully white high shoes. There manufactured by Supra, and they are part of there new Spring Collection. Personally I had never heard of this brand, but now I’m the proud owner of my ¬†first pair of Supra shoes, the Skytop II. Read on for more pictures. I bought the white ones. The world is full of smart people, doing all kinds of smart things. That’s smart! Well, we’re with STUPID. Stupid is the relentless pursuit of a regret free life. Smart may have the brains. But stupid has the balls. Smart recognizes things for how they are, stupid sees things for how they could be. Smart critiques, stupid creates. The fact is, if we didn’t have stupid thoughts, we have no interesting thoughts at all! Smart may have the plans… Stupid has the stories. Smart may have authority, but stupid has one hell of a hangover. It’s not smart to take risks, it’s stupid. To be stupid is to be brave! Stupid isn’t afraid to fail. Stupid knows there are worse things than failure… Like not even trying! Smart had one good idea, and that idea was stupid. You can’t outsmart stupid. So don’t even try! Remember, only stupid can be really brilliant. So, BE STUPID!

If you look around you see them everywhere, the colorful Nike shoes. Since some time Nike lets you customize and design your own sneakers. You start with 2 models from which you choose one, in the next step you can customize colors, material, labels etc. The combinations aren’t unlimited, but if you wan’t to be notable these are the shoes to wear.
Justus Bruns is a man with a plan! “I want to replace all advertising on Times Square with art”! Sure it’s a ridiculous idea. Too ambitious, not realistic at all. How’s a twenty-something from a small Dutch city going to take over New York’s most famous square? It might be a crazy idea, but is it totally impossible? Our societies have changed, and with the wright network everything is possible. On the internet u can find manny graffiti movies, but only a few good ones. This one focusses on a selection of artists with a verry different style and opproach. It’s verry well done and features a lot of great names, like Zevs, Os Gemeos, Swoon and manny more. The movie is about one hour, so make yourselfs comfortable, grab something to eat and drink and enjoy.
Its a pity we don’t have any of these creative bus stops here in Belgium, it would encourage me to take public traffic more often. Today i’ve stumbled on¬†creativecriminals and found these, a nice way to advertise your product. Making money with street art, parfois would love to get our hands on a bus stop and do a makeover. For years you can get things from vending machines. Soda is the most famous I believe, but what would you think about fruit-vending machines, candy-vending machines, vending machines with hamburgers and hot dogs… There all out there. But all of these vending machines get a new competitor, the one and only swimsuit-vending-machine. Quicksilver and The Standard Coca Cola and Co. are introducing the first Board short & Bikini Vending Machine. Right now you will only find them at the most exotic surf spots, but who knows, in a couple of years you can buy our brand new and fancy Quicksilver Board short or Bikini right there at your local train station.

The first Tim Burton¬†movie I saw was “The Nightmare before Christmas” 1993, I was 8 years old that time, and as the title says, it got me nightmares. And not only once, I think I dreamed about Jack Skellington for years. Today, Tim Burton is back from never be gone. At the MoMA there is a complete retrospective of his work.
