About Parfois

If it was up to us, all the best design in the world would be posted within the Parfois Portfolio. But it's not up to us. Stumbling the web we often bump into things worth sharing. The world wide web is so full off great things that will never end up in our portfolio, but which we want the world to see. For this we created our blog. At this moment there are 4 of us blogging on a regular basis. Work, studies and social life makes that there are weeks with a lot of posts, and weeks without. But we'll do our best in bringing you the nicest shit on a acceptable basis.

atelier venti dieci

09.06.10

I met Bram De Ceurt a couple of weeks ago by one of the very newest ways to meet people… facebook… Maybe not the best way and I prefer a pub or a party to meet people but the point is that we met. I had a look at his website www.bramdeceurt.be He is photographer and painter and searches with both media for the erotic aspect of life.

I saw the work of Steve Locatelli for the first time a month ago at Artspace Leguit in Antwerp. For me, his artworks blew the work of other artists at that expo away. His colors are very brisk and his lines are very well placed. He knows what he wants and how to get it. http://www.locatellisteve.com >> Read more

‘010′ lamp – Guillaume Delvigne

08.06.10

I don’t know why, but I’m really into lamps these days. Here’s another great one I found at dailytonic.

This irreducible table lamp was designed by the French designer Guillaume Delvigne. In occasion of the launch of the new lable Spacimen it will be exhibited during this year’s Designers Days in Paris from 9-14 June within the Specimen Editions exhibition at the Terresnuages showrom in 10 rue des Filles du Calvaire.

"KEXPO" – Kevin Toelen

06.06.10

Today I went to the expo of Kevin Toelen at the old bakery in my hometown Boechout. Kevin has painted the whole interior of the bakery from the front to the back and from the bottom to the top. Sad to know that this will al be gone after two years when this building will be destroyed. But this is all part of the plan so Kevin told me. So enjoy the pictures and maybe when you find the time,  come to Boechout en check it out! >> Read more

Claesson Koivisto Rune – Paper Task Light

18.05.10

‘Paper Task Light’ is lamp design in durapulp and made in collaboration between swedish architectural practice claesson koivisto rune, swedish lighting company wästberg, and forestry group södra.

This year at milan design week 2010, mårten claesson, eero koivisto and ola rune of claesson koivisto rune office have once again developed a functional item out of the material ‘durapulp’, a biodegradable plastic based on maize starch. Aside from being durable and waterproof, this material is also fully compostable. While historically paper has been used primarily in lamp shades, ‘paper task light’ integrates the use of paper as the actual structure of the lamp with added LED technology. >> Read more
